The Virgin Hotel New York City sits in the heart of Manhattan, joining the ever growing skyline. It is a hotel with a difference yet it has so much to offer. My 3 night stay here was a welcomed escape from the madness of New York.

Location and Getting There
Located in the heart of Manhattan, The Virgin Hotel is on the corner of 30th Street and Broadway. It’s prime location means that a 10 minute walk up broadway takes you straight to times square. The nearest subway station is 2 blocks away at 28th Street so whether you travel in by car or public transport, it is really easy to get to the hotel.
the chambers
Virgin as a brand are known for doing things differently, so it was no surprise to see this within the Virgin Hotel. Firstly, the rooms are referred too as “chambers” and they are a world away from your average hotel room. When you enter your chamber, you walk straight into the bathroom. Different for sure, but it’s more of a hallway and they utilised this space to have the vanity area as you walk in.
Opposite the vanity area you then have a seperate toilet and shower which I think is such a brilliant idea so that whilst someone showers, another can still use the toilet or get ready in front of the vanity area. Just after the toilet and shower, you then have the sliding barn style door. A brilliant idea again from the Virgin Hotel as it then gives even more privacy for two sharing.
chamber two double beds
Ahead of the sliding door is then your bedroom where we had two double beds. Again, the set up was very different to your normal hotel room. The two beds shared a headboard that stretched across the room which then made for a chair between the two beds. This was accompanied by a table and made a great workstation if needed or for us, a great place to put the laptop to watch a movie in bed.
Opposite the two beds was a large TV which was great to use and you could also stream your own tv and movies too, to watch on the big screen. There was also a Mini Bar and SMEG fridge with some essentials and treats.

Facilities
The Virgin hotel had only been open a few months and did have a gym which looked great. For full disclosure, we did not use the gym but it was very spacious with floor to ceiling windows bringing in all the natural light.
There is also a spa but it had not yet opened during our stay. It just means I’ll have to go back for another visit once it’s open!
dining
Food is always an important one to discuss. There we’re two dining options at the Virgin hotel. The first being The Pool Club. Whilst the Pool Club looked amazing, we didn’t get chance to dine here as the pool is closed October to March.
The second option is their main restaurant, Everdene. We had a few meals here, including brunch and each time it was lovely. Everdene had a good drinks menu, including a good selection of cocktails. The staff were friendly and helpful and the menu had a good variation giving options for everyone. Including those who may be needing a vegetarian or vegan option. The prices of the restaurant were okay and within the average of other new york and hotel restaurants.
Overall
All in all I loved my stay at the Virgin Hotel. It’s the first time I’ve stayed in a brand new hotel and considering it was brand new, I didn’t experience any teething issues!
The room was great and had some really modern features. This made the stay very different to other hotel stays which I loved. It was in a great location with amazing views of the empire state building. The cost of the hotel was great as well. I was able to secure an amazing rate through my travel business and I would definitely stay here again. I really liked the hotel and the price point was very good for the location. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel offered good options for entertainment, food and drinks. I loved the outdoor terrace with Empire State views and it was a really social hotel.
I would definitely stay at the Virgin Hotel New York City again and I’m already planning my next trip back!
