Hidden within Marble Arch, we spent a perfect weekend in Central London at The Cumberland, formerly The Hard Rock Hotel.

Location and getting there
The cumberland is in a great location within Central London. Nestled right next to Marble Arch and Hyde Park, it is central to everything. Next door to the hotel is the Marble Arch tube station. This can connect you to anywhere in London within a few minutes. It is also located just off Oxford Street, putting it in a prime location for shops and restaurants.
Classic Twin Room
During my stay at The Cumberland, we stayed in a Classic Twin Room. The room wasn’t the biggest room but it certainly had enough space for the two of us. The room had two beds, a desk and a mini fridge. To our surprise, everything in the mini fridge was complimentary. But, only one stocking of the fridge was complimentary. There was a selection of soft drinks, beers and ciders, as well as some chocolate and crisps.
The bathroom was a good size and had a rainfall shower over a deep bath. As well as a large sink area with enough room for two girls to leave all their skincare and bathing essentials which is always a good indicator of size too me!
Facilities
The hotel had great facilities. It offered a gym as well as Business facilites such as meeting rooms and event rooms. Full disclosure, we did not use the gym but whilst walking down to breakfast we did see some of the meeting rooms and event rooms and they looked really modern and spacious if that is what you are looking for.
Dining
We couldn’t have been happier with the dining options in the hotel. Our first taste of the dining options was the hotel breakfast that was included in our room rate. I have never seen such a wide variety at a hotel breakfast in central London before. It had everything from bread and pastries to your full english as well as pancakes, yoghurts, fruits and cereals.
There was also a hotel Bar with a wide selection of cocktails and drinks. It had a Coffee shop that sold Costa Coffee, as well as toasties, panini’s and sandwhiches. The Sound Restaurant was also situated within the hotel and had a good menu of food and drink which both were so nice. Room service was also an option and it had a good selection, we ordered pizza on 2 out of our 3 nights staying here and it might have been one of the nicest pizza’s I have ever had. It was so good that we have been craving it ever since!
Overall
My stay at The Cumberland was one of my favourite London stays so far. The hotel was really nice, modern and clean. We we’re taken care of by all staff and nothing was too much of an issue. The location made it even better, just off oxford street we we’re so close to all the shops, as well as being central to everything that we wanted to visit within London. Being right next to the Marble Arch tube station also made getting around so easy. I would definitely recommend staying here, its a beautiful hotel, in a great location and we got a really good rate which made it even better.
