Saturday – Travel day
We travelled down to London on Saturday morning. Fuelled on starbucks and excitement, we took our seats on the train and headed off. The journey was smooth and we arrived into Euston just after 1.30pm. As always, Euston station was heaving with people and i had forgotten how crazy it gets in there. Our hotel was right next to Marble Arch so we hopped in an Uber. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel (now the Cumberland Hotel) and it was a beautiful hotel. I had a surprise evening planned for my best friend so we dropped our bags off and headed out.
saturday evening
Our evening started with a meal in Las Iguanas at Royal Festival Hall which is along south bank. The sun was shining, it was hot, the food was great and the cocktails were even better. Finding ourselves a little tipsy, we decided to walk over to the theatre. We walked along the river and then I surprised my bestfriend with tickets to The Lion King. We had front row seats and it was incredible. Neither of us had seen a West End show before and it exceeded my expectations in every way possible!

After travelling, a few too many drinks and a few hours sat down, the day had caught up with us. Our beds we’re calling, so it was back to the hotel. Jumping into bed, we put on a film and ordered some room service to end the night. Some of the best times I have with my bestie is doing nothing, but doing it together. Our first day was a success!
Sunday
Waking up in London is always exciting, yet this time it was a little more special. My bestie had never been to London before so I had to show her all the tourist hotspots. We started our day with a little shopping. Our hotel was just off Oxford Street so shops were hard to avoid. We did try to do the hop on, hop off bus in the afternoon but it didn’t quite work out. There was a biking event on which meant road closures didn’t allow for a lot of hopping off. The bus did manage to take us to the London Eye so we spent some time around South Bank. Luckily, we could hop on a river cruise down the Thames so we saw the sights from the river. The weather was absolutely beautiful all weekend, all of London was shining in the sun as we cruised around.

We spent around 2 hours on the river cruise before hopping off at Westminster pier and walking down to St James’ Park and through to Buckingham Palace. Seeing Buckingham Palace knowing the Queen was no longer there was a really strange feeling that I wasn’t expecting.
We continued walking through too Hyde Park and then onto Marble Arch back to our hotel. We’d worked up quite the appetite and settled in our hotels restaurant for a bite to eat. We ordered starters thinking it would be a small bite and we couldn’t have been more wrong.. A steak salad and Cheeseburger sliders couldn’t have been bigger portions but it was SO good! 10 out of 10 for the hotel food!

Sunday Evening
I had planned a chilled, yet fun evening for us. We headed to Swingers West End for a little bit of crazy golf, food and some drinks. I had never been before and it was such a good time. When we arrived we got taken to our table and given our food and drinks vouchers. I had pre-booked a package for the evening. The package included crazy golf, 3 alchaholic drinks, street food up to the value of £13 and a desert. The cost was £55 per person which I think is really good value. The food was surprisingly, really good. We went for a slice of pizza each, chips & garlic pizza crusts to share.

After enjoying the food and drinks, we got taken over to the start of the course. We had so much fun and it really was a little crazy. The course itself was really funky which made it that much more fun and entertaining. It’s also safe to say that I am no good at golf! Once the golfing came to an end, we called an Uber and headed back to the hotel. We didn’t want a crazy night as we had a BIG day tomorrow..
Monday
Today was the whole reason we came to London.. it was Beyonce day! The minute we woke up, beyonce was on repeat. Dancing round the room, we honestly could not contain our excitement. We wanted a lazy morning so we headed to breakfast and then went out for a morning walk. Walking down Park Lane, we took in all the famous hotels. We came across Grsovenor House, The Dorchester and then found ourselves at EL&N. It was the most grgeous little cafe and we had coffee & pancakes.

Midday rolled around so we headed back to the hotel and started getting ready. We wanted to go all out. I had even custom made a disco cowboy hat to match the one from the Renaissance posters.
We spent the next few hours getting ready, had a drink and then headed off to the concert.

The Renaissance Tour
The concert was I N C R E D I B L E . I have loved Beyonce for as long as I can remember and every tour just gets better and better. The outfits, the visuals, the dancing and the energy of it all was out of this world. We had amazing seats which meant we saw everything with such a good view. It really was an incredible night. We even survived getting the tube home and the stampede that came with that!

Getting into bed that night felt like a dream. My feet were so sore but we were on such a high, but wide awake! Room service was ordered and we sat up talking about how good the night was. The post Renaissance come down was tough, but boy did we sleep well that night!
For our final few hours in London, we needed something chilled. Sleeping in meant we missed the hotel breakfast, so we had a slow morning. Check out was 11am, so we checked out then and headed out for a wander round. Finding ourselves on Oxford Street we had a little shop around before choosing Slim Chickens for some lunch.
Soon enough, our time in London had come to an end and we headed for the train home. I had the most amazing weekend and it’s a weekend I wish we could do over and over again.
Curious about our hotel stay? We stayed at The Cumberland (formerly Hard Rock) and you can read all about it here!
