Nestled in the heart of Times Square is the tall yet cosy Marriott Marquis. This hotel had been on my list of hotels to stay at for a while and after booking a girls trip with my bestie, I knew it was time to test this hotel out.

Location and Getting there
The Marriott Marquis couldn’t be in a more perfect location if it’s your first time visiting New York. It is located directly in Times Square and you are at the heart of the midtown madness.
With buses all over, including the hop-on hop-off bus and subway stations nearby, you have so many transport options. When we landed in JFK we got a taxi to our hotel – this was a mistake as it wasn’t a yellow cab and we got absolutely ripped off. It took just over an hour though, which is standard with New York traffic.
When we were heading home, we decided to try out the public transport option. I’d seen so many TikTok’s of how it was so easy to take the subway or train back to JFK, so, with my bestie in tow, we gave it a try. It’s safe to say, it will always be my preferred option now. It cost a total of $16 and took 45 minutes, including missing out on the hellish driving of NYC cabbies. Penn Station was right by our hotel so we took a cab there with our luggage, got the Long Island Rail Road to Jamaica Station and then hopped on the Air Train which goes round all the terminals at JFK. 45 minutes later, we we’re checked in and heading to security.

I was so excited about our room and it couldn’t have impressed me more. It was one of the biggest New York hotel rooms that I have stayed in and it was just perfect. We went for a Times Square view room and the room had floor to ceiling windows overlooking Times Square. The room had two double beds and offered so much space with a sofa and table to sit at, as well as quite a generous sized desk.

Dining options were plentiful and I was pleasantly surprised. There were two restaurants within the Hotel. Revel and Rye being the first and we did eat here one evening using our hotel credit and the food was beautiful. The second is the Brodway lounge which has fllor to ceiling windows that over looks Times Square. We did not eat here but the restaurant itself looked wonderful, especially with the view over times square.

Within the hotel, they had everything we needed. There was a shop that genuinely had everything you could think of. Gifts, jewellery, clothing, Starbucks, hot food, cold food, medication – I genuinely have never seen a shop in a hotel so well stocked. There were also 2 restaurants and a gym. The gym overlooked Times Square and had an amazing view to look at whilst working out.
overall
I’ve stayed at a number of New York City hotels now but honestly, this shot towards the top of my recommendations list. The hotel was huge yet the service still felt personal. The room itself was very spacious and had so much room which is often hard to comeby in New York. It would be perfect for a family sharing one room. Location wise the hotel was in the perfect setting, directly in Times Square and central to all the typical touristy things you might do In New York City. I truly would recommend this hotel and I would absolutely stay there again.
