You may have read my blog on 22 things to do whilst I’m 22 and I wrote that with the intention of having the best year of my life. Then a pandemic hit the world 3 months later and scuppered any and all plans I had.
I thought I’d take a look at that list and see what I have managed to tick off since January 2020 but also write a new list and attempt to make my 24th year on this planet, the best one yet.

Reflecting on the year
Looking back on the list and considering we were in a pandemic, I’m lucky as to how much I did manage to tick off. Despite the ups and downs of the past 18 months, I have some wonderful memories and goals achieved. Let’s have a nosey..
- Start a full time graduate job – I’ve been an analyst for almost 2 years now.
- Get a new car – I did manage to save up and buy a new car and I love it.
- Start saving for a house – I now have £10,000 saved and I couldn’t be prouder of myself.
- To go and see a West End Show – Technically it wasn’t a west end show, but I did get to go and see ‘The Windsors” in London this summer.
- Go back to Tenerife – I went back ‘home’ March 2020 and Covid caused us to have an extra day there as all the airports shut and we had to be repatriated home.
- Spend more time with the right people – I definitely did this during lockdown. I spent so much quality time with my parents and grandparents.
- Go on a road trip – I drove to from the North West to Bristol, Salisbury and then Portsmouth for a staycation!
- Go on a a spontaneous weekend away – I went on a cruise with a weeks notice and a weekend to London with 10 days notice. I was very spontaneous this summer!!
- Go on a stay-cation to somewhere new – I took staycations to a new level this summer and went on one of Virgin Voyages Summer Soiree Staycation cruises from Portsmouth!
It could be a little hard to top this summer but I can promise you I will damn well try..
