22 Things to do Whilst I’m 22

Last Wednesday marked my 22nd birthday. I had a very relaxed day, spending the morning at home with family and the afternoon at the Manchester christmas markets with my bestie!

However, on the run up to my birthday I decided to make a list of 22 things I would like to do whilst I’m 22. I’ve seen so many similar lists of things to do in your twenties or before you turn thirty but I wanted to make a list of things I could achieve by this time next year and hopefully make this coming year, a lot more fun and exciting. So here goes..

1. Start/gain a full time graduate job.

When I began my list a few weeks ago, the one thing I knew would be on here was to get myself into a graduate job. It was something I wanted and a week before my birthday I was offered an incredible job which I’m taking!!

2. Go to Orlando for our Annual Travel Conference

Since I am a Travel Agent, I would love to go to Orlando with the team for our annual travel conference!

3. Travel to Europe more!

Recently I was in New York and whilst I loved it, (you can read about it here) I want to start visiting places closer to home! There are so many European destinations on my list of places to visit so I really want to tick some of them off this year!

4. Do Something Every Weekend.

Now that I know I’m starting a new job, I decided that one thing I want to do this coming year is to make sure I do something with my weekends. Whether it’s something big like going on a road trip, or even just going for a nice walk with the dog!

5. Get my Mercedes

For years now I have dreamt of owning my own Mercedes A Class! I’ve got to the point now where I have saved up enough to afford a Mercedes so I’m hoping this year I can finally call one my own!

6. Read a really good book!

One of my best friends is a bookworm of the highest form and she’s always telling me to read more, so this year I want to read at least one good book! I did find a really good book list for millenials on goodreads! You can take a look here!

7. Start saving for a house

Recently I opened a Help To Buy ISA and I’ve decided that I want to start saving for a house! I’m starting the saving now and my goal this next year is to hopefully save at least £1000 towards this.

8. To go and see a West End Show!

London is one of my favourite cities in the world that I’ve travelled too yet I’ve never been to see a show! Therefore, I want to make it my mission to go and see a show! – Comment your favourite shows!! I’d love to hear recommendations!

9. Travel to Iceland

Iceland has been on the top of my travel bucket list for a long time now and I finally want to get myself to the lushness of the blue lagoon!

10. Improve on my Spanish

My Spanish is a little rubbish to be honest. I’d love to be able to hold a conversation in Spanish!

11. Go Camping

I’m not much of an outdoorsy person so I may need to upgrade to glamping but I’ll give it a go!

12. Go Go-Karting

Just something fun I’ve always wanted to try out!

13. Stay a Night at The Shard

For a while now I have wanted to stay at a 5* Luxury hotel just to experience it. Since starting my own travel business and becoming a Shanghai La Specialist I thought it would be amazing to stay a night at the shard!

14. Go somewhere to watch the Sunrise!

As cheesy as it sounds, I’d love to sit somewhere and watch the sunrise one day!

15. Go back to Tenerife

Tenerife is like a second home to me and I didn’t manage to get their this year so I would love to go back just for a few days possibly to rest, relax and recharge!

16. Spend more time with the right people!

This is a big one for me. Life is flying by and I want to make sure I’m spending more time with the right people. Those who love and care for me and who mean the world to me.

17. Try out Yoga

Yoga has always been something I’ve wanted to try and very recently I was reading that it could be good for those with asthma. Supposedly it helps with breathing techniques and lung capacity so as a asthma sufferer I would love to try it to see if it helps!

18. Go on a road trip!

I absolutely L O V E road trips so I’m hoping to go on one!

19. Donate blood

I’m terrified of needles, but I’ve always wanted to give back and it is something so simple that can help someone in need so I’m going to pluck up the courage and donate blood this year.

20. Go on a a spontaneous weekend away

I’ve seen it in the movies and all over Instagram about booking somewhere last minute and just going away for the weekend so I want to try this and see how I like it and where I end up! I’m a freakishly organised person when it comes to going away somewhere, I need to know all the details, how long it takes, where it is, what’s near by so I’m intrigued to see how the OCD side of me copes with that!!

21. Try Skiing

For years now there has been an indoor ski slope 5 minutes from my house and I’ve always wanted to go to Switzerland in the snow but I don’t know how to ski! So I’m hoping to try skiing closer to home so I can one day go on a skiing trip!

22. Go on a stay-cation to somewhere new!

Stay-cations are my favourite trips away as there are some gorgeous places in England. There are so many places within an hour to two hours away so I’d love to go somewhere new!

So that’s my list of 22 things I want to do whilst I’m 22! Just something fun and silly but achievable that will hopefully make my 22nd year a little more fun and exciting!
